The Shariz Sultanate was a realm in Arrakis. The small nation, located in the harsh deserts surrounding the city of Shariz, maintained cordial relations with its neighbouring city of Garantinople and was well known for its unique desert culture, minor trade involving poppies and oil, and the stewardship of the al Juba dynasty. All international trade went through the coastal town of Qalyut, with its small port bustling under the towering watch of the nearby castle.
