Valdemar Greif was a soldier commanding an elite guard of The Blue Griffons when the Silvetian Revolution broke out. He was ordered to protect and move the remains of Balthasar I from Bad Erzquell to the newly built castle Baldisruh by Balthasar IIIIII. Due to his success in this mission he was granted the castle Baldisruh and the last name Greif by Balthasar IIIIII.
Later in life Valdemar would found the town of Elbogen to secure his county from the hill tribes in the area.
