Gnaeus Magnus Makesinus (188 AIC – 257 AIC), born in Urbs Archadia, was nephew and designated heir of Servius Magnus Makesinus. His father, Marcus, died in 192 AIC and he was raised by his uncle. Gnaeus was fond of Princess Basilia, loving her like a sibling. Taking over the family business in 209 AIC (consisting mainly of wine and wheat production), he quickly gained prominence as a successful businessman. He founded the famous Argentaria Makesini, first international bank of the world, which forms the basis of later Societas Makesini. Moved to Garantinopolis in 235 AIC, where he served as advisor to Jaffar and later to his son Soleimannos. Following the death of Basilia, he ended his life by bleeding to death on a farewell party about a month later. He wrote Vita Makesini, a book on the life of Servius Magnus Makesinus, which was later translated and commented by Michael Screipicus.
