Gnaeus Magnus Makesinus

Gnaeus Magnus Makesinus (188 AIC – 269 AIC), born in Urbs Archadia, was nephew and designated heir of Servius Magnus Makesinus. His father, Marcus, died in 192 AIC and he was raised by his uncle. Taking over the family business in 209 AIC (consisting mainly of wine and wheat production), he quickly gained prominence as a successful businessman. He founded the famous Argentaria Makesini, first international bank of the world, which forms the basis of later Societas Makesini. Moved to Garantinopolis in 235 AIC, where he died. He wrote a book on the life of Servius Magnus Makesinus, which was later translated and commented by Michael Screipicus.
