Baldassare Velisario (832 - 878 AIC), or Balthasarus Belisarius G. XLIII, was emperor of the Holy Archadian Empire from 874 till his assassination in 878 AIC. Baldassare had four children: Nicodemos Velisario, Berenike Velisario, Cleon Velisario, and Irulan Velisario.
Reign
In 878 AIC, Baldassare called a meeting of the Consilium Basileii in Vissegrad to discuss the legality of Sotiranity alongside Omnicanism. Baldassare was assassinated during the proceedings, possibly by Sotirans, leaving the throne to his son Nicodemos Velisario.
The Edict of Vissegrad, which granted equal rights to all Sotirans, was eventually passed by the Curia of Archadia and made into law in 882 AIC, despite the emperor's death. This was a direct cause of the Imperial Civil War which destroyed the Holy Archadian Empire.
