Strait of Levcovouno

The Strait of Levcovouno is a narrow passage on the eastern end of the Inner Sea between the Principality of Montebianco and the Dactilian peninsula on the continent of Arrakis. The island of Incagliato exists in the centre of the strait. The strait is vital to world trade, with trade from the west of Hasperia travelling through to trade with nations of the Spice Islands, Morgenland, and the nation of Azurien.

Levcovouno Tolls

As of 1117 AIC, the Principality of Montebianco enforces a toll of 1.5% of cargo value on all ships passing through the strait as payment for keeping the sealane clear of pirates. Ships that do not stop in Serrentino or nearby ports in order to pay this toll are fired upon. Naturally, payments can be made in advance so ships can avoid the inconvenience of always having to stop at port.
