Micha I, formerly a mere landed knight from rural southern Silvetia, used the Silvetian Religious War to assume leadership of an army and subsequently allied with or defeated the counts and cities until finally declaring himself Duke of Silvetia, thereby founding the Duchy of Sylvetia in 805 AIC.
In order to protect his new realm despite the devastation of the war, Duke Micha I pledged vassalage to the Lonian League in 806 AIC. He made Kosel the capital of his realm and ordered the construction of the Duke's Hall and the Langer Fred there.
