The town of Bad Erzquell

Bad Erzquell is a small town in Eastern Silvetia. It is situated in the mountains of the Dämonenkamm at the source (Silvetian: Quell) of the river Erz, a tributary of the river Schwarzwasser. Because the water is said to have healing properties, the town has been granted the status of a spa town, hence the Prefix Bad. Greifenhausen's founder Bishop Balthasar I died in Bad Erzquell and his remains are a treasured relic of the town's church.

Silvetian Eagle Monument

The largest national monument of Silvetia, commemorating the victory of the Republican forces in the Silvetian Revolution. It is located directly to the north of the town.

Kastell Balthasar

A Balthasarian fortified church housing the remains of Balthasar I. While the building is erected on Silvetian land, it is for all practical intents and purposes an exterritorial enclave of the Bistum Greifenhausen. The money raised from pilgrims visiting the relics as well as from selling holy bread to the visitors of the Silvetian Eagle Monument is said to be the main source of income for the Balthasarian Order of The Blue Griffons.

History

In April 1116 AIC, Bad Erzquell declared open rebellion against Duke Micha III (The Mad) in the Silvetian Revolution. One month later, the defenceless town was razed by Ducal forces and most of its upper society was executed.
