Nicoloviana

Nicoloviana is an elective monarchy in Hasperia. Its capital is Nicolovia.

History

After Sotiran movement originated in Tor Ardwen about a century ago, a civil war broke out, first between the Omnicans and Sotirans, later between the king and the nobles, afraid of losing their power. In the end, the nobles won and the last hereditary king, Isztván II. Nagy, was banished from Nicoloviana and his estates siezed by the nobles, while Tor Ardwen broke away from the kingdom as an independent city state. After the civil war, the nobles wrote the Nicolovian Confederation Treaty, a formal constitution to reorganize the realm, and the elective monarchy was born. Ever since, the Confederation is in a state of fragile peace between the Omnicans and the Sotirans. The former royal dynasty, the Nagys, live now in the lands of the St. Castor's Order, dreaming of gaining back their heritage.

Politics

The Confederal Diet of Nicolovia is the legislative body of the state.
