Gucharev, also spelt Gucharov, is a village in the Principality of Vlachia famed for its blue flax fields. The village gained prominence when Voivode Alexandru Draculesti, lord of the local castle, ordered the planting of flax seeds instead of wheat despite the village elders protesting. The following year provided a bountiful harvest of flax which was traded across the Empire bringing a healthy profit to the village. For his efforts, the Domnitor gave him the titular title "the Blue". Once there was a castle nearby, also called Gucharov. However, it has now sunk into the swamps.
