It saw the [[Leopoli\|Leopolitan]] Armata del Stato da Mar against the [[Karlsbund\|Karlsbunder]] Südseeflotte at Cape Sand in the Iron Gate strait.

	In the morning, the ~~light ships~~ of the Leopolitan navy sight the Karlsbunder main fleet on her way to Lymetis. Admiral [[Baldassare Velisario]] takes the decision to frontally engage the enemy. Through a cunning manoeuvre the Karlsbunder admiral manages to strike a devastating initial blow to the Leopolitan navy, reducing its forces greatly. The ensuing battle is fierce and bloody and though outnumbered, the Karlsbunder are able to sink 14 enemy ships. In a last desperate move Baldassare Velisario manages to manoeuvre his ship to strike hardly on the Karlsbunder navy, leaving it with 2 ~~heavy ships~~ badly damaged.
