Manuel Parapinakes was captain of the Third Imperial Army of the Holy Archadian Empire stationed at Dehradun. In the Imperial Civil War, the captain gave control of the fort and army to the Sayyid and joined him on the march to Garantinople, where they successfully took the city. After the war, Parapinakes was promoted to commander-in-chief.
